Sankofa: point, line, plane and volume

Sankofa was my first exhibition project in my first year of architecture. It explored point, line, plane and volume through the act of making.

Working with discarded sheet metal, I investigated how repeated elements and folded surfaces could generate spatial form. The project developed through two configurations of the hyperboloid, with cutting, bending and assembly becoming part of the design process.

Sankofa draws on an Akan expression that encourages looking back to inform what comes next. In this early project, found material became a starting point for testing new possibilities.
